Wow.
I cannot believe how rude some people can be. Express. That means 10 ITEMS or LESS. Question. Have we in America correctly educated students to count to 10 because the last time i checked 10 meant 10 not 11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21,22,23,24,25,26 and especially not 27. 27. That is the number of items a man came through my clearly labeled “EXPRESS 10 ITEMS OR LESS” line tonight. As I attempt to bag his mountain of groceries that due to my condensed belt don’t even fit correctly he has the audacity to question “How has your day been? You seem stressed.” WHY THE HECK DO YOU THINK I SEEM STRESSED?! of course I am stressed. You just came in my line with 17 items over the limit! Very rude. And so i answered “Just a bit.” and politely handed him his receipt as he walked towards the clearly marked “locked after 9 doors”. It was 9:05.

I feel like I waste my days hearing the obnoxious beep of the register and listening to customers complain about how we only had the small bottle of our HEB brand honey mustard and not the big bottle and sweating my butt off because the heat from outside comes in through the doors constantly and melts all of the employees to little puddles. I have come to the conclusion that a new job would be wonderful but I have also come to the conclusion that quitting would be stupid in this current economic crisis.
